The Effectiveness of Unpermitted Bus Services (Pirate) Transportation Mode

Informal transportation services are often associated with safety risks, as the use of old vehicles in poor condition does not guarantee and comfort users. Currently, existing public Kota Kinabalu cover entire city area, which has led to existence informal mode, namely unpermitted busses meet users’ demand. The purpose this study was assess user acceptance bus Kinabalu, Sabah. A survey done using a questionnaire an instrument among 140 respondents. results show that three factors service effectiveness achieved high mean score, fare factor (3.82), reliability (3.75), accessibility (3.69). This shows play important role, especially providing mobility users, although drivers do emphasize aspects mode.
